The Hospital Directory of the German Hospital Association is based on the "German Hospital Directory", this is a website of the Deutsche Krankenhaus TrustCenter und Informationsverarbeitung GmbH (DKTIG).

The DKTIG is supported by the German Hospital Association and the federal state hospital organizations. It supports hospitals in meeting security requirements and performs the trust center function in data transfer in accordance with § 301 SGB V.

As the issuer of the SMC-B hospital, the institutional ID card used by hospitals for authentication against the telematics infrastructure, the DKTIG sees itself as an active shaper of digitization in the health care system. In addition, the DKTIG supervises various benchmarking and calculation projects of the hospitals.
